I always love reading these sections on other Sailor Moon websites. Actually, in many cases they're the first place I surf to, so I'll try to make this as interesting as I can.

October 11th 2005 - Present

While planning the several different Moonkitty mini sites it became clear that what I wanted was a completely different layout for each one. Not just different graphics but different coding, feel, look and functions! The LunaP mini site would naturally be very high tech and complex, the Sailor Mau one obviously very small (due to almost no information and no pictures of her) but a few of them had to be a little "normal".

My original layout for "Pink Kitty" was very basic, along the lines of the layouts that small fanlistings have with a picture at the top (though I decided to use a pic at the bottom) and the text in the middle.

While manipulating this pic in Photoshop I realised how cool the transformation background was and remembered how great all those sparks and bubbles look animated in the anime so I went about creating an artificial manga transformation animated background. It was actually easier than I thought it would be, though it took a lot of time using both Sailor Moon's and Sailor Mercury's transformations as reference to get the right ammount of bubbles and lens flares to make it look somewhat authentic but still have a stylised look that would suit a website.

After completing the transformation background and manipulating the pic (which included deleting everything except for the two girls, throwing on the "luminosity" layer style with a pink background and saving it as a transparent .gif file) it was all rather easy to put together.

There were two design features that I had never done before making "Pink Kitty". The first was the positioning if the semi-transparent pic of the girls (took a LOT of surfing around to find a code that would position it and make change the opacity when it gets a "mouseover". The second was coding a Fanlisting which I was very interested in trying. (Please join!).

Content wise, all the media is completely new. The wallpaper, icons (which I really enjoyed making) and even the manga gallery were created just for this new mini site. I had previously had all the pics scanned but I lost them somehow. No idea where they went. Grrr...

Overall, I'm very happy with the layout as are a lot of you! Thanks to everyone who has given me their feedback! It really keeps me going and motivates me to try something even bigger with my next design!
