Both films simultaneously act as both a fifth season for the Sailor Moon Crystal anime series and a direct sequel to the previous two anime movies, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal Part 1 and Part 2.

The first teaser trailer for Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1 was released on the 28th of April 2022 on the official Japanese Sailor Moon YouTube channel. This Sailor Cosmos teaser trailer is fairly short, having a runtime of only 45 seconds, though additional, much longer, trailers ahave since been released.When Did Sailor Moon Cosmos Come Out?

No international release information has been announced for Sailor Moon Cosmos. Both anime films could get limited theatrical releases though it's more likely that they'll be pushed to a streaming platform like Netflix as was done with Sailor Moon Eternal. A 2023 release date for Sailor Moon Cosmos outside of Japan is likely though still unconfirmed at this stage.What's the Sailor Moon Cosmos Blu-Ray Release Date?
The two Sailor Moon Cosmos movies are set to come to Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on the 20th of December, 2023. This release includes both Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1 and Part 2 and comes with the Japanese audio version. The Japanese Sailor Moon Cosmos Blu-ray and DVD release does have subtitles but these are Japanese subtitles for hearing-impaired Japanese viewers, not English subtitles. However, both the DVD and Blu-ray discs are region-free which means that they can be watched in any Blu-ray or DVD player regardless of country. The Japanese Sailor Moon Cosmos Blu-ray release will have both a Limited Edition and a Regular Edition. The Limited Edition includes the two Regular Edition discs plus two bonus CDs with music from both films. The DVD version will also have Limited and Regular versions with the same bonus CDs. No release date for an English-language Sailor Moon Cosmos Blu-ray release has been announced yet and one is unlikely as both movies will likely be streamed on Netflix.Is There a Sailor Moon Cosmos English Dub?

The storyline used in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos is similar to the one from the final season of the 90s Sailor Moon anime, Sailor Stars. This similarity is due to the fact that both are inspired by the Stars Arc in the Sailor Moon manga. It is worth mentioning though that the 90s Sailor Stars anime differed greatly from the manga source material as numerous changes were made such as Chibi Chibi's identity and the exclusion of various Sailor Animamates and Sailor Guardians. There won't be a fifth season of Sailor Moon Cosmos as it's a pair of anime movies, not an anime series. Sailor Galaxia is a super-powerful Sailor Guardian from a distant star system who was corrupted by her ambitions. This triggers the Sailor Wars, which obliterates entire civilisations, and eventually leads her to Earth. Sailor Moon Cosmos does seem to be the final entry in the Sailor Moon Crystal anime project. This makes perfect sense as both Cosmos movies are based on the final storyline from the Sailor Moon manga, Stars. A sequel to Sailor Moon Cosmos is always possible. But then anything is possible really. If a new Sailor Moon movie or series comes out that takes place after Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 2, it would have to be a completely original storyline that hasn't been covered in the 90's anime or manga. The Sailor Moon musicals' Legend of Kaguya Island and the Dracula trilogy are two possibilities for post-Galaxia storylines that could be adapted into animation.
