|  Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1 and Part 2 (2023) are a pair of anime movies due for release sometime in 2023. Both films simultaneously act as both a fifth season for the Sailor Moon Crystal anime series and a sequel to Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal Part 1 and Part 2.

Is There a Sailor Moon Cosmos Trailer?The first teaser trailer for Sailor Moon Cosmos was released on the 28th of April 2022 on the official Japanese Sailor Moon YouTube channel. This Sailor Cosmos teaser trailer is fairly short, having a runtime of only 45 seconds, though additional, much longer, trailers are expected before the films' release.
When Does Sailor Moon Cosmos Come Out?Both Sailor Moon Cosmos movies are set for a theatrical release in Japan in 2023. No specific premiere dates have been announced yet though they'll probably follow Sailor Moon Eternal's lead and debut a month or so apart from each other.

Sailor Moon Cosmos Arc: MangaPretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos is based on the Stars Arc in the Sailor Moon manga. This is the final main storyline in the manga and features the arrival of the Sailor Starlights and the battle with Sailor Galaxia.
Sailor Moon Cosmos Arc: AnimeThe storyline used in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos is similar to the one from the final season of the 90s Sailor Moon anime, Sailor Stars. This similarity is due to the fact that both are inspired by the Stars Arc in the Sailor Moon manga. It is worth mentioning though that the 90s Sailor Stars anime differed greatly from the manga source material as numerous changes were made such as Chibi Chibi's identity and the exclusion of various Sailor Animamates and Sailor Guardians. Sailor Moon Cosmos is expected to be closer to the manga than the 90s anime.
Will the Starlights Be in Sailor Moon Cosmos?The Sailor Starlights (Sailor Star Fighter, Sailor Star Healer, and Sailor Star Maker) will all appear in the Sailor Moon Cosmos anime movies. All three Sailor Guardians, along with Princess Kakyuu, play major roles in both Part 1 and Part 2.
Will There Be a Sailor Moon Cosmos Season 5?There won't be a fifth season of Sailor Moon Cosmos as it's a pair of anime movies, not an anime series. Sailor Moon Cosmos, however, is essentially Sailor Moon Crystal Season 5 and is set within the same continuity as this new Sailor Moon anime project. Sailor Moon Crystal Seasons 1 through 3 are the first three seasons, Sailor Moon Eternal Part 1 and Part 2 are considered Sailor Moon Crystal Season 4, and Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1 and Part 2 are Sailor Moon Crystal Season 5.
Who Is Sailor Moon Cosmos’ GalaxiaSailor Galaxia is a super-powerful Sailor Guardian from a distant star system who was corrupted by her ambitions. She decides to kill all of the Sailor Guardians and take their Star Seeds so that she can become the most powerful force there is. This triggers the Sailor Wars, which obliterates entire civilisations, and eventually leads her to Earth. Sailor Galaxia has a combination of imposter Sailor Guardians, Sailor Animamates, and genuine Sailor Guardians who have joined her cause.
Where Can I Watch Sailor Moon Cosmos Episode 1?The first Sailor Moon Cosmos movie is set for release sometime in 2023. Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1 and Part 2 will both likely make their way to a streaming platform by the end of 2023. A DVD and Blu-ray release of Sailor Moon Cosmos is also expected, at least in Japan.

Will There Be a Sailor Moon Movie in 2024?Plans for the Sailor Moon anime franchise after Sailor Moon Cosmos are unknown at this point. Both Cosmos films will wrap up the main storyline from the Sailor Moon manga though a potential future anime movie could be based on a manga sidestory, a plot from one of the Sailor Moon musicals, or even something completely original.
