First if all I want to thank you for taking the time out of your schedule for this interview! I'm still a little bit in shock over the fact that I'm actually talking to you!

Ha ha, your absoloutely welcome. It's been a very long time since I've sat down to do an interview, especially for Sailor Moon.

Can you believe it's been over ten years now since you first voiced Sailor Uranus first in the Sailor Moon S and SuperS movies and then in the Sailor Moon S season. How do you look back on your time involved in Sailor Moon?

It's something that completely drives me crazy. I remember being in the recording studio like it was yesterday. Being involved in Sailor Moon was such a great experience for me. The show was fantastic and I admire everyone that was involved with it, we were a huge family and thats deffinitely something too hard just to forget within the space of ten years. I actually have the S DVD boxset at home, I bought that a few months ago. And some of the lines I actually remember recording them and how I felt at that time, it just gave me an insane nostalgic trance.

Had you ever watched Sailor Moon on TV before you got cast in the role of Sailor Uranus?

No, I hadn't. I remember there being a show in North America that was doing so well and was so popular. Then when my agent said "Would you like to audition for Sailor Moon" I was like "That's the show everyone's going gaga over!" and I instantly said yes before actually knowing what I was getting in to. And thats how my voice for Sailor Uranus came about, I read the discription of the show and the characters and I remember thinking to myself "These girls are tough, give them a tough voice" and so I got Sailor Uranus!

Did you know much about the controversy surrounding the character before you took on the role? (i.e. her being in a romantic relationship with Sailor Neptune) Did you find this intimidating?

I didn't actually know the characters had a sort of love relationship with one another until like the 6th or 7th episode when I was reading the script, I was just told they were cousins and that's all I thought. But when I watched the episodes I thought "They're a bit too close to be cousins" and that something didn't quite add up. I remember finally been told that they were (in the original Japanese) an item. But it wouldn't have changed how I acted for this role because Amara was deffinitely the tough tom boy, I guess you could say.

Was there much discussion on staff about the decision to make Sailor Uranus and Neptune cousins and how you should approach the role? Your voice (in the role) did sound very similar to the original Japanese voice. It seems the only big changes were in the script?

I was completely oblivious to the fact that they were a couple. The script made it seem to me that they were cousins and nothing more! But when the producer told me that they were in fact 'originally, a couple' it sort of tied up the loose ends and made complete sense. I always portrayed Amara as a strong, never backing down type, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I 'upped' my game a little more, especially in romantic scenes when I was told of Neptune and Uranus' love relationship.

Do you have any funny stories about recording Uranus' lines? Any bloopers?

There was this one time when I remember I was having an off day and I just couldn't say any of my lines, I kept tumbling over my words. And after a while I got so frustrated I ended up cursing in nearly every sentence. haha, I know it was innapropriate but after that I managed every line successfully.
