In September 2009 Toei announced the release of special DVD box sets of the Sailor Moon anime to celebrate it's upcoming 20th Anniversary in 2012.

The boxes each contain half a season each and are packaged in deluxe hard cases and holographic slipcases. The picture had been digitally re-mastered (and taken from new masters) and while the sound is still mono, it also has been cleared up.

These box sets contain every episode of the original Japanese language version of the Sailor Moon anime without English subtitles though the sheer quality of these releases makes them well worth investing in especially if you're a fan.

Their release is extremely limited with production to cease in 2012. Grab them while you can!
