These are the first generation English versions of the Sailor Moon manga produced by Mixx / TokyoPop back in the late 90's and early 2000's.
Based on the first generation Japanese Sailor Moon "tankobon" versions, they feature all the Short Stories and notes from Naoko Takeuchi with the only major change being the pages flipped right to left so the manga can be read by a Western reader. Something else worth mentioning is the fact that this release was not an English translation but rather an adaption for the English speaking audience so while the story itself is pretty much the same as in the original Japanese and is uncensored (i.e. blood, nudity and homosexuality are still present), the English character names from the English language version of the anime are used (i.e. "Makoto" is called "Lita" and the "Sailor Soldiers" are referred to as "Sailor Scouts") which results in a product that is slightly different from it's original version but is a lot more accessible to the casual fan or average reader.
In my opinion, this first generation English language release captures the fun and energy of the original a lot more than the revised second generation English release by Kodansha USA which is why I recommend it to fans who have never read the Sailor Moon manga before. While there may be some name changes and some small changes here and there, the dialogue sounds a lot more natural here and overall the story flows a lot better and is a lot more emotionally investing.
Since they are long out of print and these first generation releases by TokyoPop will most likely never see a reprint again, the prices may be quite high but also vary greatly depending on the volume.
Note: The Codename Sailor V manga was not adapted into English during this time.
