Sailormoon: Full Moon Collection

Number of Tracks: 21!
Extra Media: A Sailormoon screensaver for your computer!

Quick Rating: 5 / 5

The Case: This is a really well designed case especially since it's an English release! Down the spine (which you can't see in the above pic) is a row of symbols from the respective Inner Scouts' planets plus Artemis and Luna's heads at the top and bottom! Very rarely are both Artemis and Luna used in dubbed merchandise and this is a definite plus and suggests to me that a LOT of planning an research went into this release. (You'll see more evidence of this as you read on).
After you remove the cd from the case (a release style that I havn't seen before and like a lot! You know how that circle in the middle of the release part always seems to break on half your cd cases? This one seems break proof. Very strong and solid. I can remove the cd without fear of breaking the case!) I found a very clear capture from the show of Sailor Moon at the end of her transformation in SailormoonS!
The back of the cover has the sampling of titles on the cd superimposed over a screencap of Sailro Jupiter fighting for her life against the Daimons in one of the final episodes of (again) SailormoonS! Anyone else suprised already with the ammount of new artwork used for this release? It looks like the production company actually hired prefessional graphic designers to design this package! No slapping of pictures together here!

The Cover & Booklet: As seen above the front cover of the cd features Sailor Moon and the Inners in splitscreen transformation phase. Like most of the graphics used in this release it was captured from the show and looks like print quality! The designers have done a great job of clearing up these pics.
The cover unfolds into a 10 page booklet featuring lyrics for all the vocal songs overlayed on a very subtle background featuring several shots from the R season. Randomly insterted around the track listing and lyrics is more crystal clear pictures from the R and S season. You know what I don't think I've seen some of these online before! And that's saying something! Plus guess what? More pics of Artemis and Luna!

Track Listing/Info: The only problem I have with the track listing is that there is no simply "listing". You basically have to tell what song is next by the order the lyrics and track information are listed in the booklet. Unfortunately this means that if you want to find a track you have to either open the booklet up or randomly scan your cd player. This seriously isn't as big of a problem as one might think though.
All the information you will ever need about each track is easy to find and plentiful. Those that want to know who composed or sang what track will enjoy this aspect of the booklet.

  • 1. Pan Flute [Alan's flute from the R season]
  • 2. Sailor Moon Theme (S.A.F. Remix) [A great remix of the English opening song! This song and it's counterpart at the end of the cd are worth you purchasing the whole cd! Very well edited and I guarentee they will get the most replaying with your stereo at full volume on any of your Sailormoon cds!]
  • 3. I'm Not Ready [I have no idea where this song comes from. It looks like it was produced just for this cd and it's honestly not bad. It has a certain JPop feel to it and it is refreshing to hear a new English Sailor Moon song after all this time.]
  • 4. My Only Love (S.A.F. Remix) [I think most people will agree with me that it was the original version of this song that made most of us ask ourselves if there was a Sailor Moon soundtrack as soon as we heard this in Crystal Clear Destiny. Definitly on par with the two Opening Theme remixes.]
  • 5. I Want Someone to Love [Another pretty cool and appropriate new song for the Sailor Moon series.]
  • 6. I Want to Hold Your Hand (Hi-NRG Mix) The original version of the Sailor Moon version of this classic song originally sang by John Lennon and Paul McCartney has been on another Sailor Moon cd release. I'm still not sure what this song is doing on a Sailor Moon soundtrack. It is sung by the gal who sang the other DiC songs though such as My Only Love.]
  • 7. Moon Crystal Power [The instrumental track for when Serena transforms! I always did love this music. Can't wait to see the fan dubbers go crazy when they hear this track! Supperb quality!.]
  • 8. Call My Name (And I'll Be There) [A much clearer version of the original. Pretty much the same though.]
  • 9. Tiara Action [The Instrumental track for when Sailor Moon throws her Tiara! Interesting to notice that the track is named after the Japanese terminology for the attack move.]
  • 10. I Wanna Be a Star [No Comment ;) ]
  • 11. Receiving Waves, Part 3 [Funky music that seems to play every time a villian is promoting a Nega-product in the show or the girls are going shopping etc...]
  • 12. The Power of Love [Much clearer version of the previously released song.]
  • 13. Tuxedo Mask [It goes for a whole of 10 seconds! I wanted the slow guitar love theme from the dubb but we just get the Tuxedo Mask sound effect with a one cord strum on the guitar. "Not happy Jan!"]
  • 14. Rainy Day Man [Yup. It's a clearer version of a previously released song but it's a goody!]
  • 15. Luna [The famous Luna theme plus some cool atmospheric intro music! Not very long but it's all there!]
  • 16. Nothing at All [Another rerelease albiet much clearer]
  • 17. Sailor Jupiter [That great action piece that plays everytime the Inners attack someone! A MUST for fan dubbers!]
  • 18. It's a New day [Feels great listening to this towards the end of the disk. Rounds it off nicely even if it is a rerelease. As with the others it's much clearer this time around.]
  • 19. Melvin [We all know this theme! Classic! Great to see it here!]
  • 20. Sailor Moon Theme (S.A.F.Club Mix) [A longer and more technical version of the excellent 2nd track! I love these remixes!!!]
  • 21. Queen Beryl [The biggest revelation of the cd came with this track. I had no idea how complex this Negaverse background music was! There's so much going on! Great!]

Final Thought: This is a must for any collection and especially if you're into making fan dubbs or Sailor Moon music videos! I'm telling you now, if someone makes a good quality music video from one of these remixes I will host it here at Moonkitty.NET!!! I can't get enough of them! In fact I'm listening to them now!
However a few songs that I really wanted to see was the tv version of Only a Memory Away and the instrumental version of the Opening Theme. I've heard it several times on SM DVD menus and it played in the tv broadcast of the S season during the end credits. I also really wanted to hear the Love Theme and the English songs from the new S and SuperS seasons. Maybe in a future release! None of us saw this cd coming and lots of people seem to be buying it (judging from reactions from friends and Amazon).
