Final Blogger Sailor Moon Roundup 

Well with the Blogger FTP publishing being discontinued in May I'll be upgrading Moonkitty.net's blog to WordPress on Thursday/Friday this week. This makes this the final Sailor Moon Roundup posting from Blogger! Hurrah!

In other site news I've been doing quite a bit of work on a certain major section of the site which should be 100% completed around this time next week so stay tuned! It'll be a HUGE accomplishment for the site and something I've literally been working on for years.

This week in Sailor Moon news 

Well it's been quite a week for Sailor Moon news! If you haven't aready, make sure you read this post about the Sarah LaFleur imposter. Serious stuff and it's always good to be informed.

In site news I answered two Moonie Mailbag questions this week, Where can I buy Sailor Moon transformation items? and Are there any Sailor Moon Ripoffs? which has sparked quite a discussion here.

Sarah LaFleur Imposter 

I have just received an email from people representing Sarah LaFleur informing me that the person owning the account @S_lafleur on Twitter whom many Sailor Moon and Ugly Betty fans had been talking to over the past few weeks is in fact an imposter.

I was very surprised by this as the user seems very legit with her replies to fans and also in the recent interview she did with Moonkitty.net (which I have naturally now taken down). This person is obviously very good at what they do and also very dedicated.

I have no idea if this person is just an overenthusiastic fan or is up to something more sinister but I must emphasise how serious identity theft is and ask that if you to are using another person's name (celebrity or not) for your username online you should change it. Misrepresentation can cause emotional pain but also affect professional relationships (this user had been tweeting other actors not just fans!).

I urge you all to block this account and say that if the real Sarah LaFleur is reading this that I am truly sorry for the stress this may be causing you and that your fans still love you and wish for a fast end to this ordeal.

Now for your peace of mind, I am absolutely 100% sure that all the other voice actor interviews are with the real, authentic, voice actors. With every single one I had gotten in touch with the voice actors via their official websites and conducted the interviews with email addresses that matched those on their sites. The interview with "Sarah LaFleur" was done purely on good faith via the Twitter account. She has no official site to compare email addresses and even then (and I'm seriously hitting myself right now for this big red flag) she used someone else's email address and claimed it to be her sister's (which was obviously hers). I should have been more suspicious but I guess I always like to look on the bright side of things and, like the rest of you who had spoken to her, was fooled.

I hope this episode doesn't affect your trust in myself, Moonkitty.net or the real Sarah LaFleur.

This week in Sailor Moon news 

Hey there! Having a good week! Mine's going pretty well! Thank you everyone for all the understanding emails and tweets! I've never seen such an understanding community online before it's absolutely fantastic! I know I've been busy lately and updates have slowed (or maybe that's just in my head as I have so much I want to do) but I just scored a new job which I start in two weeks which has super hours, freeing up my afternoons for site updates once again! Yeah! Also got a few long weekends coming up so will be sure to sit down and do some biggish site updates soon.

Speaking of the site I just realised the other day that Moonkitty.net will be turning 11 years old next month! That's so crazy! Seems just like last week that I had updated to this current layout to celebrate 10 years online! Very humbling though to see that there are Sailor Moon sites that have been online even longer like Serenitatis.com which is turning 13 years old!!! Sailor Moon really is eternal!

Sailor Moon Roundup and a Warning 

Hey there! Hope you had a good week! I've been flat out at work but just two more weeks and I'll be back to the massive updates you're used too. Lots to come such as heaps of Moonie Mailbag answers, more Sailor Moon Desktop Wallpapers, more Sailor Moon DVD Reviews, some updates to the Sailor Stars Episode Guide and more.

In the immediate future (i.e. any day now) you can expect another exclusive interview with a Sailor Moon voice actress! Stay tuned for that!

This week in Sailor Moon news:

Sailor Moon bento makes it big in Japan.

The Sailor Moon anime is back in Italy (check out this video) and they've been given the remastered picture! This is looking pretty good for any possible English release getting the new masters as well though it would be hard to use them in the first two seasons as with the edits made and the cool 3D transitions (which I loved!) the audio wouldn't be able to be used with them. S and SuperS though could easily be rereleased with the English dub and new picture quality. Something to think about.

Sailor Moon Box Set 2 Review and Updates! 

Realised my review for the second Japanese DVD Box Set didn't upload properly so just fixed it and uploaded it here.

I know I few of you have been asking for it so hope you find it useful and enjoy the screencaps and photos (I really need to get a digital camera).

In other site news I'm happy to announce my affiliation with ReiHino.net!

Speaking of affiliation I've completely rewritten the Affiliate Application Info Page to be more specific. Plus I added a cute image of a Luna plush! ;)

The Sailor Moon Channel Archive has also been updated and I just found this site about Sailor Moon Bento! Fun stuff!!!

I have been flat out with work and am in the middle of a 14 day work marathon so have postponed announcing the winner of the PGSM CD + Book competition until around the 18th. I want to do something special for the announcement and just don't have the time right now to do that. Hope you understand!

A Visit to Sailor Mars' Hikawa Jinja 

Real life has really gotten in the way of my site plans recently and for that I really apologise.

I've been working full time six days a week and any free time I've had has been spent applying and interviewing for new jobs which hopefully will start next month.

For the next two weeks it's really going to hit the fan as one of the companies I work for will be making everyone work on the next two Sundays which means.... 14 days straight of work! Yay! I'll still be updating with any interesting and amazing Sailor Moon news and of course will try my hardest to post the Roundups and Moonie Music Mondays but will most likely combine the two features until late March when my time will free up more.

Now funnily enough, one of the job interviews I went to on Friday just happened to be literally across the road from the Hikawa Jinja that was the inspiration for Sailor Mars' shrine in the manga (different temples were used for the anime and live action versions)! I'd been here once before with Jay from Genvid but that was three or so years ago and I hadn't been since.

Out of curiosity I decided to check out the wish tags and see if there were any Sailor Moon fans who had visited the shrine recently. I didn't really expect to see anything Sailor Moon related but right on the top row were two tags with some amazing Sailor Moon artwork and messages in Japanese that basically read (I will punish you!). Here's the photo I took on my phone of them!



Pretty cool that Sailor Moon fans still visit the shrine on a regular basis!

Now here's your Sailor Moon music video spotlight! In kind of a musical mood right now so thought I would feature one of my favourite songs from the musicals featuring Yu Shirota and Marina, New Moonlight Romance.



I really hope the musicals come back for the 20th anniversary!

I will be picking up a few as they are pretty cheap and the only Sailor Moon CDs I have are musical, PGSM or NA Dub.

In site news I have updated the Sailor Moon Channel Layout Archive with February's layout. I'll also be getting around to regular site emails and tweets sometime this week I hope (if I have time). Keep sending in Moonie Mailbag questions! I WILL answer them whenever I get the chance. If you haven't been answered yet, don't worry! You WILL be!

Interview with Sailor Venus Voice Actress Emilie-Claire Barlow! 

Ready for your big surprise?

How about an interview with the second voice actress of Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus, Emilie-Claire Barlow!

She acts, she sings, she performs and she was a pleasure to interview!

She talks about her time on the Sailor Moon anime and what it was like taking over from two established voice actresses.

She also talks about about her singing career and what aspiring voice actors should do to get into the industry.

Happy New Year! 

Happy New Year 2010! Yes it's been a while but as those of you who follow my Twitter account know, I was suffering from a major wrist injury (bruised the joint and ripped the cartilage) which pretty much prevented me from writing anything over 140 characters long without screaming in pain and doubling over.

This is why I love Twitter! It allowed me to stay in touch with quite a few of you guys even when I was unable to update the site.

Speaking of Twitter, Interesting stats: 22% of you guys are guys, 78% are girls. 95% of you love RTing me (thanks!) & most are from US and Canada.

Got those stats from here if you're interested. They forgot to mention that 100% of you are fabulous!

That's interesting as on the MKNET main site there are a lot more Australians, Kiwis and Germans and also a few from Japan (besides myself).

Anyway as a consequence of my wrist injury I fell seriously behind in the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars Anime Episode Guide which I was hoping to have finished by the end of the holidays. Am definitely aiming to get it done by March. I've also got some great Moonie Mailbag Sailor Moon Questions in my inbox to be answered and will most likely get round to them this Sunday. Keep sending them in guys! I will answer them all, don't worry! If you haven't seen the Moonie Mailbag yet, you should check it out. Lots of content to read on a rainy day.

If you haven't been here in a while, you should also check out my review of the new Japanese Sailor Moon anime box set. This weekend I'll be updating it with screencaps from the DVDs so stay tuned!

I've also uploaded a lot of new Sailor Moon wallpapers to the Downloads section which are well worth checking out. There's also a HUGE collection of avatars & icons there if you want to change your avatar for the new year.

In Moonie news, nothing really big officially. Still no news of a new anime series from Japan or a new English redub let alone a rerelease of the series on DVD or Bluray in Region 1 or 4. The anime will be reairing in Italy next month though and Naoko Takeuchi will be drawing some new artwork for the Italians!!! That's pretty amazing and I think the first time she has drawn artwork exclusively for a company outside of Japan.

The official site has updated for the new year, but unlike last year's January update there's no message from Naoko. Interesting now though in retrospect that when Naoko in January 2009 said that 2009 would be an interesting year for Sailor Moon she must have been talking about the new DVDs and the anime's reairing on Animax in Japan.

New Sailor Moon Widescreen Wallpapers

I just sat down and created 12 new Sailor Moon Widescreen Wallpapers for your enjoyment!

As a special treat I took the time to edit together all the sides of the first Japanese DVD Box that came out several years ago to create one entire image (though I excluded the top of the box featuring Luna. Sorry Luna fans!).



Feel free to download as many as you want for your own personal use on your desktop though please don't upload them to another site (including your own). Cheers!

Sailor Moon DVD Boxes and More News 

Happy Friday! Hope you've had a good week and are getting all your Christmas shopping done!

The biggest Sailor Moon news this week is the release of the first Sailor Moon DVD box. It's been selling really well according to this chart (though I'm not sure the actual rank) and has flown off shelves here in Japan with a lot of stores already being out of stock! Even Amazon has sold all of their reserves in just a few days! Don't worry if you've placed an order though, the boxes won't go out of print until December 2011 and all stores should be getting new stock soon.

Luckily I pre-ordered mine and got it as soon as it was released. If you haven't already you should check out my review of the box which includes photos of the slip, case, disks and extras. Will be adding screencaps and a screenshot comparison between the different releases tomorrow so check back soon!

This week I also updated the Sailor Moon Channel Archive with December's layout. I wonder if this will be the last update for 2009! Looking forward to creating a new page for the 2010 layout! :D

In other site news Moonkitty.net's reached 1000 followers on Twitter! Thank you to all my followers for following thus far and if you haven't followed yet, come on over and join the party! I'll be throwing a competition for a PGSM CD / Book Set in the New Year that will be held entirely on Twitter so you better get in early to be eligible!

As holidays are approaching, expect more updates in the near future such as new wallpapers, icons and some bigger developments in the Sailor Stars Episode Guide! The latest poll also suggests that you guys want some Sailor Moon Character Information too so you can expect Moonkitty.net's Character Guide to premiere sometime in the New Year after the Episode Guides are finished (and they almost are!). I'll also be answering as many Moonie Mailbag questions as time permits tomorrow as well.

This week in Sailor Moon news 

Hey! How's your week going? Been doing some more layout fiddling here and there, trying to streamline the whole site a bit more. Work in progress! I really like the circle Twitter and RSS buttons to the left. Not sure why but circles are cool. ;)

Also created a Shopping Guide for the new Japanese Sailor Moon DVD Box Sets so make sure to check that out.

I also cleaned up all the pages in the purple website section. Mmmm.... tidiness.

I also just renewed the domain name for another year! YEAH!

Everyone say hello to my new affiliate, Dreaming Moon! It's a fantastic resource for Sailor Moon card information and highly recommended!

Star Dusting has even more galleries online this week! Amazing!

The fantastic German Sailor Moon fan film, The Last Soldier has just uploaded a very cool new teaser for the film. I seriously can't wait for this!



They've also posted a great post on their blog (in English AND German!) with some great posters and photos! Seriously looks incredible!!!

Earlier this week I found this great image of Fisheye. Who knew Fisheye could look so hot as a man? ;)

Tokyopop recently tweeted in reply to Sailor Moon: "I wish we could reprint Sailor Moon! If we could, we would, believe you me!" Guess we won't be seeing a manga reprint from them anytime soon. Possibly from Kodansha themselves though.

Who's your favourite Sailor Soldier? 

First up in site news I've updated the Sailor Moon Channel Archive with the official site's last two layouts as well as layouts for the numerous mini sites that have popped up to promote the show's 20th Anniversary!

Also with the site, you may have noticed that I've got random crazy and randomised the interviews (another one coming soon!) and now the Moonie Mailbags to make the layout more dynamic while surfing the site.

There's also a new poll on the left hand side. Vote who your favourite Sailor is! So far Sailor Moon is winning by a landslide with Sailor Jupiter surprisingly coming in second, Venus on third and Mars and Saturn tied at fourth!

Will be changing the poll every month so make sure to get in now! ;)

Sailor Moon & Christmas 

Hey there! Hope you've had a great week! Halloween is now over and it's time to get ready for Christmas! If you're after Sailor Moon related icons, images and wallpapers make sure you check out my Sailor Moon Christmas Mini Site which has heaps of media and things to do.

Will be adding more and more to it as Christmas approaches!

The biggest news this week has got to be my exclusive interview with Tuxedo Mask voice actor, Vince Coraza. If you haven't read it yet make sure you check it out. I still can't believe I've interviewed both Sailor Moon & Tuxedo Mask! Wow!

Something else you should do is vote on who your favourite Sailor Soldier is on the new poll on the left hand side menu! Who will be the most popular? Am thinking of changing this poll every month or so so make sure to vote soon!

Also I want to thank Charlotte for donating! Thank you so much, I need all the help I can get right now to pay for hosting, domain renewal and general expenses! Cheers x100!!!

A super Moonie has used the Japanese Region 2 DVD (which has remastered picture) and the English VHS (which used the DiC dub music) to create an amazing Sailor Moon R movie experience!!! I'm a big fan of the DiC music (actually thought it worked better in several places, as much as I like the original music) so I'm loving this! If you're a DiC fan, check it out!

An Interview with Tuxedo Mask, Vincent Corazza! 

Got another big treat for you this week! Moonkitty.net's 10th Anniversary surprises continue this week with an exclusive interview with the voice actor of Alan (from the Doom Tree) and Tuxedo Mask, Vincent Corazza!

It was such an honor interviewing Vincent Corazza who had some very interesting things to say when asked about being a voice actor and what it was like working on the series during it's original run, the production of the movies and finally with S and Supers. Make sure you give it a read!

Because of this great news I've decided to dedicate this week's Moonie Music Monday to Tuxedo Mask with this hilarious music video to the song "Spy Hard" by Weird Al Yankovic.

Parodys, Donations, Icons and Moon Sticks Oh My! 

Hey there! Been having a great week! How's yours been!

I want to thank all my followers on Moonkitty.net's Twitter Account who commented on my tweet about this Sailor Moon book. It does sound pretty good and am surprised I hadn't seen it before. Will probably pick it up after New Years. Thanks everyone for the Moonie love!

In site news I've answered two more Moonie Mailbag questions; "Do the Japanese Sailor Moon DVDs have English subtitles?" and "Do the Sailor Scouts die?". Both great questions. Make sure to check out the answers!

In other site news you may have noticed some slight reformatting of the side menus with several things changed, added or removed.

Something that I've added is the donation button on the lower right side. The expenses of living in Japan have really begun to impact my life recently (couldn't afford to renew the domain for my xxxHolic site for example) and I've been putting so much time and effort into Moonkitty.net recently I'm kind of hoping this will justify that.

If you see something you like on Moonkitty.net and you've got some extra change lying around I'd more than appreciate any assistance you can give.

I'm not begging though and I will never make this site a "pay site" and I'm definitely not selling out. Just throwing the option out there for those that would like to help me out. Again, I'm not begging and there's seriously no pressure at all to donate. I love all of you equally. (Those who do donate though will have their name and website listed on the right menu as a thank you pressie from me.)

Now, for what you came here for, the Sailor Moon Roundup!

It wouldn't be Friday without the new Moon Sticks manga! LOL @ SuperS and Pluto!

Sailor Stars Episode Guide 

Well I guess having the flu must be good for something! Lots of free time to work on the site!

After a whole day's work I'm very happy to reveal my Sailor Stars Episode Guide!!!

Right now the main page is done and I have episode summaries for the first six episodes which covers the entire Nehelenia arc! Each guide has been fully screen-capped for your enjoyment.

I'll be adding to this and finishing off the SuperS guide bit by bit over the next months and looking forward to having the anime guide finished by Christmas!

I'm probably going back to work tomorrow but I've set aside a few hours to answer all those Moonie Mailbag questions that have been piling up in my inbox.

I'll also be replying to site emails, so if you've emailed me sometime since 1999, look forward to your response. ;)

Anyway now that I'm done with Nehelenia I thought it would be suiting to feature a Nehelenia music video this Moonie Music Monday. Thank God I managed to find a good one! :D

Sailor Moon Wallpapers, Icons and Anniversaries! 

After some energy gathering on Twitter I've gathered enough willpower to update the site and post this week's Sailor Moon Roundup.

I may have the flu, but that won't keep me down for long (sure kept me down yesterday though!)

First up you've probably noticed the new image and links to the left of this post (if you're reading this on the site that is). Thought it was needed as the 20th Anniversary Announcement happened a while ago and I don't want Moonies forgetting about it! It'll also make it easy for people looking for the official site link and links to where to buy the new Sailor Moon Box Sets online. (Amazon.jp is my No.1 choice in case you were wondering where I'm getting mine from)

Next I've created over 50 new Sailor Moon anime avatars / icons for your use. I've seen a few people using my icons in forums recently and... THANK YOU! It's great to see people appreciate them enough to actually use them to represent themselves online. (Just remember, no direct linking!)

I've also gotten around to re-saving all the Sailor Moon Widescreen Wallpapers. Some of you may remember that when I first uploaded this layout all the colours were quite dull due to how I was saving the images on my new imac. Same happened with these wallpapers! If you're using one of these I highly recommend re-saving the wallpaper onto your computer. You're guaranteed to find it much more vibrant and energetic. Sailor Moon Says!

Oooh, and now onto the Roundup!

With the 20th Anniversary DVDs on their way some posters have started appearing in stores in Japan advertising them. This post over at the genvid forums has an image of one. Personally I haven't seen any of them yet, but I'll keep you posted when I do!

IGN has listed the Top 25 Anime Characters of All Time and Sailor Moon ranked at #9! The writers seem to be confused over the concept of "series" and "character" but it's still pretty cool!

The new Moon Sticks is online. Always hilarious!

The Fighter4Luv Sailor Stars Dub needs a new Sailor Mars. Interested? Let them know!

Speaking of which, they're having a music video contest which has been extended until Dec 31st! Love making videos? Why not enter?

New Sailor Moon Merchandise! Sailor Moon Roundup 

Hey guys! Hope you all had a good week! Got some Sailor Moon news for you!

With Sailor Moon returning to Italy it looks like some brand new Sailor Moon merchandise is on the way! Fingers crossed for some more English language merch!

The official site has updated for the month of October and lists the Sailor Moon anime's return to Japan. Nothing else really big to report concerning this site other than the new layout.

I appreciate all the emails I get concerning your Sailor Moon school plays, Sailor Moon tatoos, how much you personally love Sailor Moon and your wonderful new fan fic ideas. It's great and really cool but unless 99% of my readers would find it interesting I probably won't post it on Moonkitty.net. I do love your passion though and love reading your Sailor Moon stories!

I LOVE all the Moonie Mailbag questions you guys are sending in! Keep them coming! Am working 6 day weeks right now and will try answer them ASAP!

Moon Sticks has a great new Venus strip online. So true! lol!

Sailor Moon SuperS Episodes Complete! 

I can't believe it! After months and months of work I've finally finishes writing and taking screenshots for all the episodes in the fourth season of the anime, Sailor Moon SuperS!

Just added the episode guides for episodes 158 to 166 and also completed the guide for the Sailor Moon SuperS Movie: Black Dream Hole!

Now all I need to do is do the guides for the SuperS specials, the opening and closing credits and add the shopping information and then I can movie on to the epic final series, Sailor Stars!!!! Wooo Hooooo!!!!

New Sailor Moon DVDs! Sailor Moon Roundup and Moonie Music Monday 

Sorry for the later than usual news roundup this week! As followers of my Twitter account will know, life just got in the way this week and I was simply too exhausted to compose the Roundup post which requires a lot of energy and time.

Kind of a good thing I waited though, as this morning there's some HUGE Sailor Moon news from Japan! Let's get right into it!

This post over on the Genvid forums alerted everyone to the fantastic news that there will be some new Sailor Moon DVD releases in Japan!

The first DVD Box Set contains episodes 1 - 24 from the first season and is due for release this year in December! (Just in time for Christmas!)

The second DVD Set<完> will come with episodes 25 - 46 which finishes off the first season and is due out sometime in 2010.

It is unclear if new masters will be used, though the original Japanese DVDs had remastered image and sound and looked fantastic.

Note: the Toei site seems to be down for "maintenance" right now so these pages are unavailable. All should be fine within 24 hours.

Also currently Amazon.jp isn't listing these new releases but as soon as they do I'll let you know.

Just yesterday I uploaded heaps of new Sailor Moon avatars (or icons). Almost over 100! You can find the new anime ones here and here as well as some cool manga inspired ones here. These are perfect for Twitter or discussion forums! Just don't place them on your own site! ;)

Some other big news this past week which I posted ASAP on Twitter was the closing down of ADV who was involved in the release of several Sailor Moon VHS and DVDs. Guess we can now completely rule them out of any Sailor Moon rerelease!

In similar news, Kodansha has ended their relationship with Tokyopop! This further confirms that Kodansha is looking to self publish their series overseas which includes Sailor Moon.

And the live action Sailor Moon musical movie is on hiatus! Boo!

Finally, the Sailor Stars Dub has another fantastic preview online that looks (as usual) REALLY GOOD! Someone hire these guys to do the official Stars dub!
