Special Sailor Moon Voice Actress Event in Japan! Sailor Moon Roundup
Halloween's almost here! Luckily Moon Sticks has a special Halloween special strip online! Funny as always!
And now some pretty HUGE news! The official Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary site has updated with something fantastic! Apparently on the 6th of December all five Japanese Sailor Moon voice actresses will be appearing for a special event celebrating the manga's 20th anniversary in 2011! (Just a bit early, but hey, who cares!)
Wait, it gets better though! Toei is giving away 20 tickets to the event to 20 random fans who buy the first 20th Anniversary Box Set through their Toei site before November 3rd! I was going to buy my box set through Amazon.co.jp but looks like I may just order it through Toei (just for this first box though).
If you're living outside of Japan, I wouldn't recommend buying it directly from Toei as it's a LOT more expensive than Amazon.co.jp.
Wild Speculation #1 It's interesting that they mention the manga anniversary. Could this mean a reprint of the manga?
Wild Speculation #2 All five actresses reuniting is pretty huge. Normally this kind of thing happens when new animes are announced. It could simply be to promote the DVDs but December is normally the time of year in Japan when new animes are announced. Could they announce a new Sailor Moon anime or maybe a Dragonball Kai like remake? Fingers crossed!
In other news:
Speaking of Inner Sailors reuniting, the five main actresses from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon have also reunited recently, though socially and Izumirika.com and Ayaka502.net have the photos and info!
Snowdrop has added some fantastic spirites to her already beautiful collection! There's even a "Sailor Halloween"!
Some pretty big news today concerning the, what looks to be, return of Sailor Moon!
Almost immediately after the announcement that the rights to Sailor Moon have been released and that the show would once again be airing in Italy and Japan a press release was released announcing a brand new Sailor Moon mobile phone website for users in Japan.
The website offers Sailor Moon mobile phone ring tones (currently the Japanese theme, HEART MOVING and Sailor Star Song) as well as animated downloads and soon (not yet online) all 200 episodes of the anime for download to handsets.
If you have a phone that's web capable, you can check out the site at it's address: http://www.smoon.jp.
Some things worth mentioning is that in the footer of the page the PNP can be seen, showing that Naoko is still involved in the franchise and that there hasn't been any major change in ownership. It's also interesting to see that the Japanese logo for the series simply says "Sailor Moon". There is no mention of "Pretty Soldier", "Pretty Guardian", etc.
Possible re-branding of the series? It's possible (though by no means confirmed).
Exciting times!
Also in Sailor Moon news:
Sailor Moon was mentioned on the Australian TV show Good News Week. You can see a clip of it here.
My affiliate, Kirari-PGSM.net has just turned 4! It's a great live action Sailor Moon site! Make sure to check it out if you haven't already! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Likewise, UsagiandMamoruUniverse.com has just turn 8 years old!! Make sure to check out the site's new layout and 8 years worth of content!
The third episode of the English Sailor Moon Sailor Stars dub is due out any day now. Prepare yourself with the episode preview!
Have you seen this interview yet? It took place last week and features the Japanese voice actress of Sailor Moon. Most of it's just small talk though it mentions that besides Sailor Moon, her favourite characters are Sailor Uranus and Neptune because she feels the characters appeal to the adults who watch the show.
In site news, I've just added Sailor Moon television Air Times onto the right side navigation to make it easier for everyone to find out when Sailor Moon is returning and airing in their country. If your country isn't there yet, that means that there has yet to be any information it airing yet. If and when such info is announced I will of course add it.
Strangely enough, even though the Sailor Moon anime finished about 10 years ago, this year has shown some huge activity in Sailor Moon fan productions!
The first one I found was Sailor Moon & the Return of the Shadows which is using green screen to make some full on cg scenes! They don't seem to have a website, only the YouTube page unfortunately so there's not much info available.
The next one I found was The Last Soldier by Fairydust Productions. They've got some very cool costumes, direction and special effects going on and a very interesting storyline!
Can't wait!
The third one I found really surprised me! It's a Sailor Mars Series that's already up to it's second episode! It's based on the live action Sailor Moon series and continues the story of Sailor Mars using great special effects (ckeck out the transformation scene!!!), music and filming techniques that mimic the official series really closely! 5 stars!
If anyone knows of any other Sailor Moon fan films, let me know!
In other Sailor Moon fandom news, Moon Sticks has her latest comic up, this time featuring the Amazon Trio!
And the fantastic Stars Fan Dub has their second adaption of Sailor Stars online! This project is BRILLIANT! If you haven't checked it out, do so now! Seriously, if Sailor Stars never gets dubbed officially I'd be more than happy to see these guys do it!
Moonkitty.net got three new affiliates this week; Star Dusting, Izumirika.com & Ayaka502.net! The later of which reports that Ayaka (PGSM's Venus) and Keiko (PGSM's Mars) will be starring together in a new Japanese tv drama! Keiko's role seems to be one of the main roles (she's HUGE now in Japan!) while Ayaka's seems to be in more of an extra role. The show is called "Buzzer Beat ~ Gakeppuchi no Hero ~" or "Buzzer Beat ~ Hero on the Edge ~" and will air at 9pm Mondays starting in July.
What else happened this week? Ah, that's right! The Official Sailor Moon Site updated with a new layout, game and mailbag. Interesting to note that one of the letters was from a non-Japanese person. Unfortunately the content itself was not so interesting.
Hope you had a great week and will have an even better weekend!
Something that's become really noticeable since New Years is just how quite the Moonie (Sailor Moon Fan) community has become! Websites are nowhere near updating as much as they have this time last year and several major sites have shut down for good or changed their status to "Hiatus". Come on everyone, let's rally together and reinvigorate Sailor Moon's presence online!!!
Throw up and avatar or two, make a wallpaper, finish writing those character profiles and update your links (something I need to do myself). The Deep Submerge Awards are on soon and it's a great chance for all of us to clean up our sites make them shinier than any Star Seed we've ever seen!
YEAHHH!!!!
Woo, hoo! And now for the Sailor Moon Roundup featuring several sites that have updated this past week.
BSSMLA has some new updates concerning Sailor Moon convention panels! (Wish I could go!)
Kirari-PGSM.net has done some small updates to her layout. She didn't mention them but I can tell! ;)
Have been doing some cleaning up of my live action Sailor Moon episode guide and decided to rethink the way I link to the DVDs. While I love YesAsia, I'm aware that lots of you also buy from CDJapan and Amazon.jp as well so have started to add product links to these sites as well. Honestly I think this should be very useful as I found it really hard to find the DVDs on these sites! (How could a search for "Sailor Moon" have zero results?!?).
I was getting rather bored of using the same avatars lately so I created a whole new batch of live action Sailor Moon avatars using the menus from the live action DVDs!
On a fandom note, a friend of mine just got our tickets for a new Japanese movie, Heat Island which features not only the live action Sailor Moon's Sailor Mars, Keiko Kitagawa but also the Sailor Moon musicals' Tuxedo Mask, Yu Shirota!
Can't wait for it!

Added some more information on the guide's page and will be proof reading the entire guide in the next day or so fixing any broken links or attack information.
I did it!!!
This makes Moonkitty.NET the first Sailor Moon site to have a 100% complete episode guide for the live action version of Sailor Moon and I'm absolutely thrilled!
Stay tuned for my continuing anime and musical guides!
P.S. If you find this guide useful, why not link to Moonkitty.NET from your own Sailor Moon site?

A few keep readers may have noticed that I've now completed the episode guides for the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Act Zero Sailor V prequel episode as well as the Hina... Afterwards and Birth of Tuxedo Mask short films!
The Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Episode Guide has been updated to include all these additions and I've also reorganised the episode listing order into a more chronological order to make reading or watching these episode more logical.
In addition to these updates I've also written my review for the Act Zero DVD which means that I have now reviewed every live action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon DVD!!!
Woo Hoo!!!
Even more updates on their way in the next few days!

Here we go! (If you got that pun you're a true Sailor Moon fan!) Have just finished writing the episode guide for the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Special Act! I really enjoyed watching this special 60 minute episode and hope you enjoy the guide if you haven't seen it yet and wanted to know about it.
Have also done the review of the Special Act DVD as well which was rather cool.
Coming up soon, the rest of the opening and closing credits, more attacks and Act Zero and the Hina and Tuxedo Mask shorts!
If you see any broken links in the Episode Guide, ignore them. They'll be fixed soon enough!

The only attack guides left to write are Jupiter's live action only ground attack, the Star Tambourine Star Attacks and one or two that will appear in the Act Zero and Special Act guides which should also be online very shortly.
As soon as all the live action episode guides are online (and I'm including the short stories and Dance Lesson) and the attacks are finished I'll do some much needed resorting and probably throw all the attacks into their own subpage to make navigating just that little bit easier.

Got a surprise for you today! Just finished the guide to the live action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Kirari Super Live event! Lots of fun and well worth a read!
Also completed the review for the Kirari Super Live DVD which is surprisingly very different from the other DVDs in the series.
As a special bonus, I've also written an attack guide for Tuxedo Mask's only live action attack, Tuxedo Smoking Bomber!
Guess what! I've completed the main episode guides in the live action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Episode Guide! All I have left now are the DVD only specials and the musical performance! Woooo!!! Oh, and a few... HUNDRED attacks. ;)
The Oracle has been updating a bit lately with some episode info and Sailor Moon Musical content as well as some encyclopaedia additions. Way to go!
SailorWar.net also has some new info up. If you haven't seen this new site yet, make sure you do!
A new Auction Spotlight has been added to the right hand menu. Pretty cool! Updates automatically with the latest Sailor Moon online auctions.
One of my favourite live action sites, Kirari-PGSM has updated yet again with a completely new layout (nice!) as well as some cool costume analysis for you cosplayers. Cool new music videos too!
The Fighter4Luv Sailor Stars English Dub has released a very cool trailer for the upcoming episodes! Seriously watch this trailer! Incredibly well done! Email and Feed readers click HERE.
Genvid has uploaded videos of the PGSM panel at Otakon HERE. Pretty cool though some of the speach was hard to make out.
That's a bout for Sailor Moon news this week! Concerning site updates, expect the final live action Sailor Moon DVD (from the regular set anyway) to be online soon as well as a lot more attacks. Will also be cleaning up the site a bit more graphically (you may have noticed some changes here and there) and seeing what I can do for Internet Explorer users as the site just looks crap for them. Seriously the web just looks better and loads faster and safer in the Firefox Browser. Make the switch. It's so much better. Sailor Moon Says. ;)

Naturally I've done the guides for the four episodes on the disk, Act 33 to Act 36 which brings us to the first appearance of Princess Sailor Moon! Whoo!!!
Expect some new attacks this weekend!

Man it's been a busy week but I've managed to get back on schedule with a whopping 8 episode guides for the live action Sailor Moon Episode Guide! Phew!
Acts 21 to 28 are now covered and they've been a blast to write about! Not only do you get the Moon Princess revelation but the introduction of Sailor Luna, Dark Sailor Mercury and the exit of Hina (I didn't remember myself hating her this much when I first watched the show).
A huge amount of new attacks as well as a new opening and closing credits were introduced in these episodes so I haven't had time to write all of the pages for them yet but they will be up soon so keep checking back for updates! Expect the two DVD reviews of the DVDs that contain these episodes to be online soon also.
Have a great weekend and look forward to tomorrow's Sailor Moon Roundup!

I'm on a roll! Just completed the DVD review for the fifth live action Sailor Moon DVD which can be reviewed HERE.
As usual I also completed the episode guides for the episodes on the disk, Act 17, Act 18, Act 19 and Act 20.
Will be working on all of the guides for the new attacks introduced in these episode tomorrow night so please ignore the broken attack links in the guides. They won't be broken for long!
I also added some new live action Sailor Moon icons HERE.

BSSMLA has a great page up about Sailor Moon related fan panels at upcoming anime conventions. If you're going to any conventions this year, check it out to see who'll be on the panel and what they'll be doing. (Great idea!)
Neo Nobility is planning another site revamp. But I like it the way it is!
Want some Sailor Moon colouring in pages? Moonlit Fantasia has what you need!
The ol' SaveOurSailors site has a great review on the classic Sailor Moon trading card game (ccg) and it's gotten me really hyped about it as I never really gave it a chance! Did a search online for a site selling the cards and found them at Amazon.com for just US$12.95 for a 2 player starter deck! I think I'll give it a go!
In an attempt to improve the episode guide I decided to get my hands on several of the live action Sailor Moon DVDs and redid all of the screencaps in the existing guides. No more clock in the upper right hand corner! Much better don't you think?
I've also added three new live action attacks to the attack guide: Flower Hurricane, Shine Aqua Illusion and Crescent Beam which signal a revamp of the attack guide. I've decided to separate each version of the attacks. For example there are now three pages for Venus' Crescent Beam attack. One for manga, one for anime and one for live action. It looks a LOT neater and easier to navigate.
Enjoy and expect more on a regular basis!

Quite a few people have known about this for a while (including myself) how Amazon had been selling a bootleg Sailor Stars DVD box set on their site for the past two years or so. It was unprofessional on their part and definitely sent the wrong message to bootleggers and fans everywhere. Anyway, for some reason Amazon has finally removed it from their listing. This was most likely due to all the publicity it got recently with both ANN and Genvid writing articles about it in the past several days.
Keiko Kitagawa who played Sailor Mars (and was the best actress on the live action show in my opinion) has been quite busy here in Japan. A few weeks ago she started advertising a new diet water drink called "Lets" (check out the official site for a full Keiko workout!) and just this week she's scored a gig, starring opposite some of the biggest names in the Japanese entertainment industry in a tv drama style commercial for DoCoMo (Japanese mobile phone company). Check out the whole campaign HERE. Too bad it isn't a real series. It looks really cool!
On a bit of a Keiko buzz, I checked out her blog and found THIS! Looks like her and Ayaka (who played Sailor Venus in the live action Sailor Moon show) are still friends and hang out whenever they can. It's nice to see stars from the same show genuinely being friends.
And now a really cool project that I've come across, Sailor Moon UNIVERSE and fanmade 6th season of the anime! It uses footage from the existing 5 seasons as well as clips from computers games and other sources with a new script to create and all new storyline! The editing is really well done and the opening and closing themes are incredible! Unfortunately their official site is just plain bad and makes finding the files to watch impossible so here are the link you'll need.
Completely cleaned up the Live Action Sailor Moon Episode Guide by fixing the spacing around the images to make it look better on the eyes, adding spiffy heading effects and resorting them all into their own subdirectory in preparation for the new episode guides for the series that I'll be starting later this week.
Because of all this the links to the individual live action episode guides have been renamed and moved but the main live action index page is the same to make it easier for those who have bookmarked it or linked to it on your own sites.
Something completely new to the site which you may have noticed is the "Get Paid to Review My Post" buttons after every update on the main page. I was after some site feedback and came across PayPerPost which actually pays people to review my site and thought, "Hey, that's alright!".
All you have to do is click on the button, sign up for your PayPerPost account and write a blog post about Moonkitty.NET and you get paid US$7.50! Not bad, eh?

Have just uploaded a whopping eight episode guides and you know what that means??? The Season One Episode Guide is complete! All 40 episodes now have guides which include episode summary, screencaps, extra info and DVD shopping info! It's taken me a while to get here (been doing episode guides for my Tsubasa and xxxHolic sites as well) and I'm so happy I made it!
The rest of this week I'll be going through the entire guide and doing proof reading, spell checking, link correcting and funny comment adding to make it the best it can be before completing some more attacks and then picking up the live action Sailor Moon (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) episode guide once more.
Yeah, I've decided on the live action guide for several reasons; As far as I know not one site has a completed live action guide yet, it's a show not that many people have seen and some people didn't even know there was a live action show to begin with, so it's a necessary and useful project to do methinks.
Sailor Moon Says! And enjoy the guide!

For those that haven't been following the classic comedy site The Chibi Project they've had a video podcast for a while now which is well worth checking out. The most recent one is leaps and bounds ahead of the first few with very cool opening and ending credits for the show as well as nice little graphics for when they read emails and the like. Personally I think it could go without the board game review (WHY?) but it's great to see essentially a Sailor Moon tv show from the fan's perspective.
Speaking of fans, the famous Deep Submerge Directory (add your site now!) has announced the latest Site of the Month. Check out the listing to see who it is.
Genvid.com has a really interesting article on where the live action actresses are now. If you're a fan of the show or the girls, it's a very informative read. It's also a nice look into Japanese culture and what a girl actress/model has to go through to survive in the industry.
Another great site, Moonkitty.NET is celebrating it's EIGHTH YEAR ONLINE this month! Stay tuned for lots of cool downloads and features to celebrate this milestone.
P.S. HAPPY EASTER!!!
