There's a lot of interesting drama happening over at the famous SailorMoon.org site with some serious conflict happening between webmasters (and webmistresses). They have an article worth reading HERE.

On a more positive note, they'll soon be offering SailorMoon.org email addresses!

And now for some nostalgia! I was surfing YouTube and found a clip of one of, if not the most popular scenes from the Sailor Moon Animé! Sure brings back memories! Remember the first time you found out who the Moon Princess was even though we all kind of already had guessed and heard My Only Love that made you run out and buy the cd? Good times!

Have just uploaded several new episode guides, the coolest one being Computer School Blues which features the first appearance of Sailor Mercury!

I've also been doing subtle changes here and there in the episode guide involving image spacing and alt attributes which is taking a while but will be worth it in the long run. I still feel fairly confident about finishing the first anime season episode guide by the end of this month, if not by the first week of March.

Moonkitty.NET will be 8 years old in April! Time flies!

Well, that was a scare, huh? I had cancelled my credit card before applying for a new one and completely forgot that Moonkitty.NET's domain (as well as CasualSmirk.com where my xxxHolic site and fanlistings are hosted) expires soon! Without any card and no money in my Pay Pal account the domain died and I lived in paranoia for a whole week over some complete stranger stealing my domains before I had a chance to renew them!

As you can see, my little babies made it through the week unscathed. Just to be careful I renewed Moonkitty.NET for three more years keeping it online until 2010! Talk about Moon Power!

Mercurius on the Genvid forums stumbled across this interesting Sailor Moon sighting, a Sailor Moon themed hotel room in Santa Fe! Sunday - Thursday :: $219 per night, Friday, Saturday, Holidays, & High Season :: $269 per night, Additional Guests :: $40 per person per night, Rates are for single or double occupancy. High season is May 11-October 14. Bizarre right?

In other, more official news, the official site has uploaded and animated a new chapter of the manga. Only in Japanese though.

In site news, I'm seriously expecting to have finished the Sailor Moon anime first season guide by the end of this month. Seriously. Look forward to it! Expect several attack guides to be added as well.

I can't remember how I stumbled across the The Ohio SeryMyu Group but as soon as I did I knew I just had to email Amanda and ask her for more information about this Sailor Moon musical group she's putting together.

Thankfully she agreed and this is the interview we had over several emails. Enjoy.

Thanks so much for taking the time for this interview! Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

My name's Amanda, I'm 19 years old. I first got into Sailor Moon when I was a little girl, and it's been with me ever since.

I discovered the Sailor Moon Musicals not all too long ago, but fell in love with them immediately. I've been a big fan of musicals for many years, so I definitely was excited to see both interests come together to create an amazing stage production.
Currently I'm working to go to college in the future. Eventually, I would like to travel and experience different cultures and languages first hand.

Wow. You're only 19 and you're organising your own theatre group pretty much! What kind of things do you expect your group to do?

For now, we're taking things kind of slow, while we get to know each other better. We have one performance planned for the group at the moment, which will just be one song. From there, I'll have a better idea of how everyone does in an actual performance, and be able to take the group to a new level.
I hope to be able to perform many songs with the group, and make memories as friends doing something we all enjoy.

I guess I have to ask, you'll be singing the Sailor Moon Musical song in Japanese right? How's everyone's Japanese in the group?

I just realised that this is the 302nd post since Moonkitty.NET started using Blogger technology in 2004! Cool, huh?

Anyway, on to the Roundup.

This week was pretty big with the news that Sailor Moon Movie might still be coming soon, though everyone seems to think (and with good reason) that this is just a rumour. [scroll down for the full article]

I stumbled across some very rare Sailor Moon footage that I'd never seen before, taken from the old Sega Saturn game posted HERE. Pretty cool, just when you think you've seen it all! The Outers in the SuperS anime season though in the Sailor Stars anime style.

The Genvid forums have a very full on discussion going on HERE about your favourite keyframe animator on the Sailor Moon anime. My fandom isn't to the point where I know the animators' names, but if you're is you should check the discussion out.

On a Sailor Moon Musical high last weekend I stumbled across this very rare clip of the Inner singers singing a hit JPop song on a Japanese TV show. You will have this song in your head for the rest of the week after watching this.

This site has posted a rather interesting news story about the rumoured American Sailor Moon live action movie that was said to be directed by Joss Whedon that contains a LOT more information than previously reported.

Things worth mentioning are that they say an Access Hollywood reporter got this information from an inside source (maybe real?) and that Whedon has free time in his future to actually make the movie now that he's out of Wonder Woman (this makes me think though that if this was fake they're making all of this up over the WW news which is true).

Hey everyone, Ryan here with a scoop coming from ‘Stuart’ regarding Joss Whedon and a live-action SAILOR MOON film. Here is what ‘Stuart’ has to say:

Access Hollywood got the chance to talk with a Fox Studios worker in Century City, who revealed that one of the major movie studios is looking to quickly sign Joss Whedon as the director of the Sailor Moon live action movie, now that he is free from the Wonder Woman big screen adaptation. Also, a list of unconfirmed actresses attached to the movie that the studio has already contacted for main roles.

About a year ago, rumors said that Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) was attached to direct the live action version of the popular anime “Sailor Moon” after doing Wonder Woman.
Now that Whedon is off the WW project it’s likely that he will take on the Sailor Moon movie right away, or at least that’s what Fox wants.

When the Sailor Moon movie was reported last year, Lindsay Lohan and Jennifer Garner were both set to play starring roles, but both now dropped out. This time new casting announcements include; Maggie Grace, Julie Gonzalo, Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, Danielle Panabaker, A.J. Cook, Rachel Blanchard, Mischa Barton, Deanna Casaluce, Amanda Righetti, Elisa Donovan and Emma Caulfield.

The plot will be a complete new story based on Naoko Takeuchi’s (Sailor Moon creator) unreleased material.
Whedon is also developing a horror movie called “Goner”.

Here is an unconfirmed list of actresses and the characters they are supposed to play:

Alexis Bledel ————— Sailor Mercury
Julie Gonzalo ————– Sailor Venus
Amber Tamblyn ————Sailor Jupiter

A.J. Cook, Elisa Donovan, Amanda Righetti, Emma Caulfield and Rachel Blanchard would play the main villains.

I find it odd that so many actresses are already attached to roles this early on. All of that info can be assumed to be... assumed. That big about the story being based on unpublished stories from Naoko Takeuchi is interesting (first I've heard of that) but as far as I know there are no unpublished stories of hers. Perhaps they mean manga plots not used in the anime?

Take from this what you will. Personally I find it great that at least people are talking about a movie.

This has taken me a lot longer than I thought it would to do this! Normally an episode guide takes an hour to watch and write a guide and another half hour to take the screencaps. To do everything for a musical.... man it took me HOURS!!! No wonder Sailor Moon sites don't have in depth guides to the musicals!

The anime and live action guides are still the priority as far as guides go but I've decided to do a musical every now and then as I want Moonkitty.NET to cover all aspects of Sailor Moon.

I will be getting a proper introduction page up for the musicals like I do for the anime and live action guides but for now you can read my guide to the very first Sailor Moon musical from 1993, Alternate Legend: Dark Kingdom Revival Story!

Welcome to this weeks Sailor Moon Roundup! Roundup! Roundup! Roundup! .

The first bit of news, and a biggie is the preview of a new live action show in the Philippines called Super Twins. Why am I mentioning it here? Because the costumes are dead ringers for Sailor costumes! Footage of the show can be seen here on YouTube within a trailer advertising two other shows and an article about how the producers changed the costumes after a backlash from Sailor Moon fans can be read here. They still look pretty rip-offy though. If anyone fan subs this I think I'll do an episode guide for it as there seems to be a bit of interest about this show. Personally I think it looks fun!

An amazing fan dub which I came across last year but lost track of has resurfaced again and I can't recommend it enough! they've dubbed the final two episodes of the first season finale which was edited into one episode when it aired and released on dvd. Their acting is spot on and the music adds so much emotion! Well worth a look.

The Official Sailor Moon Site has updated for February with a new splash page featuring some great artwork by Naoko Takeuchi and more of the manga added to the animated Music Box feature.

And finally a bit of news that while not exactly Sailor Moon related I'm fairly certain that everyone reading this will love to hear: the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is now up for PRE ORDER!
