Welcome yet again to another review! This week, we wrap up the PGSM toys with the PGSM Moon Wand, and the 2 adorable Plush toys (Luna and Artemis). Enjoy! (PS: Sorry for being a day late. ^.^;;)
What it looks like: First, we'll look at the moon wand. This, by far, is likely the most attractive moon wand to come out of Bandai. The box has it's typical blue with gems all over it, which is basically the format (with few exceptions) for all the PGSM toys. But the wand itself looks remarkably similar to the one in the show. In PGSM we find the moon made of a crystal like substance.. alright, we all know it's plastic, but, let's pretend, shall we? And that's no exception for the toy! We have the same 'crystal' like appearance (well, as close as plastic can get) on the moon part of the wand. No longer does the wand house the crystal (which always confused me in later episodes, because the crystal was in her locket when she transformed, AND in her wand when she used it. o.o;;). Which leaves a lot of nice room for gorgeous design. We still have the same gold accents in crucial area's, but now, we have a large light up piece, with 4 adorable, and sparkly gem stones accenting around it. Of course, in our 4 favorite colors (red, green, orange, and blue). Even the button gets an adorable make-over, being made to look like a rose in bloom! Truly a stunning piece.
What it looks like: Secondly, we'll look at the Plush toys, Luna, and Artemis. Once again, we have the same box type, blue, with gems all over it. And in the inside, we have these adorable little plushies. And when I say little, I mean about the size of an average plush bean plush. Their little moon's atop their heads are made of that shiny, glittery type of material, same as their collars. Dangling from their collars, are 3 gold beads, and then an adorable plastic moon. Their ears and tails are made of a different plush material. being longer than the rest of the plush's fur (which is incredibly soft btw. Feeling like a soft terry type.), and accented with metallic fur so that it glitters JUST right. Their eyes and noses are of course, plastic, and their mouths, a simple embroidery. Truly adorable in every way.
What it does: Well, the moment you switch the wand to "on", pressing the rose button sends a wave of energy out aiding you to defeat youma's! Well, not really, it generally gets the music playing, and you dancing. The cresent lights up, using a cute light show, and so does that large gemstone. Flashing away with the music. Press it again, and you get more of a "healing power" kind of flow of music. Making the moon and gem light up in sync with eachother in a more fade in, fade out kind of thing several times over. Once again, an adorable light show. (As the crescent actually has 5 points where it lights up)
What it does: I'd love to say these little guys spring to life, and help you transform into a senshi, but alas, I cannot. All they do, is look simply adorable. And be -really- huggable.
What it sounds like: The sound on this wand, is actually quite clear. It is a tad too loud for my taste, making it just a TAD muffled at some points. But nothing really noticeable, unless you're putting your ear to it like I did. (Warning: Not recommended! Ears WILL ring!) Otherwise, the sounds are really nice. And it's nice to be able to have 2 sounds to it. One to really get you pumped to fight that youma, and one for defeating it outright.
What it sounds like: N/A.
Well, all in all, you can likely buy the wand for about $30.00. Since there seemed to be an overabundance of them for the longest time, there really isn't any hard time finding this one. Although, you might want to be careful, and be SURE you're buying the official one. Be sure to look for the "bandai" logo. As there are a LOT of fakes out there. It makes for GREAT cosplay, as it's just the perfect size. And with all it's glorious beauty, is sure to impress anyone, be it through cosplay, or collecting. This item makes a great start for someone looking to collect the PGSM line of items, as it gives a great insight to what you're looking at with the rest of the items out there.
As far as our plush friends. What can I say? They're too adorable, and would be really cute for cosplaying Usagi or Minako. They're so much more maneuverable than the other sitting Luna's and Artemis' that we're used to. And they feel, and look so much more attractive. Unfortunately, if you're looking to cosplay as Usagi, you might have a hard time finding Luna. I spent a good month trying to scramble to find this one, calling all over the US and Canada! Not to mention asking everyone and anyone around the WORLD if they saw any available. Starting price for her is about $30.00. If you're lucky. Otherwise, be ready to enter a real bid war on this one. As I've seen them go well over the $50 marker. As far as Artemis is concerned? He's a tad easier to find. I typically see him at $30.00 still online. I would say no higher than $50.00 at the time of this posting. Although, time's change, and Sailor Moon goods go fast! PGSM is no exception! If you're looking to complete your set, these are truly the 'grand finale' of them all. Though, they don't do as much as the other toys do, they definitely are well worth the money.
