A Special Post!

This is pretty cool! It's the 200th post on http://www.Moonkitty.NET and it's about my guide for Episode 15 which was my very first Sailor Moon episode! Enjoy!

Had a bit of frustration with this and realised that half the online community doesn't know how to spell "Nephlite". Was pretty sure it was Nephrite before for the English version after all my research, but it's obviously an "l" not a "r". I think it's "Nephrite" in the Japanese version.

Sailor Moon Media Clips!

Just stumbled across a HUGE selection of media clips and have implemented them into the anime guide! If you've already read the guide, do so again and make sure to click on the links within the article! I'm sure you'll be suprised! We have DiC's original animation pitch, Cartoon Network Sailor Moon commercials, Toy Commercials and MORE!

I did get some for the S and SuperS season as well as the three movies, but will upload those to their respective sections when I get them online later.

For now, enjoy! (and please don't direct link!)

My State of Mind

When thinking back to when I first started browsing Sailor Moon websites way back in 1995-6 I started to remember what I wanted in a site, as a visitor. The first thing I went to were the episode and movie summaries as I wanted to know more about the Outers and the Starlights. I was also interested in the movies as I had only seen the first and second series in English at this phase in my life. Such a basic thing as an episode/movie guide is overlooked a LOT in Sailor Moon websites these days (including this one) as a lot of webmasters assume that just because they have seen every episode or at least know the story, the visitors to their site must by now as well. I've decided to change this and make my episode guide a priority.

To get this completed in an orderly fashion however, this is what I will do: Firstly I will complete the guide for the first Japanese season (the Queen Beryl Arc) of the anime. I will then complete the first arc of the live action series (the appearance of Venus was said to be the end of the first arc out of three in the series by one of the producers in an interview I will try and find later). After that, I will go back to the anime guide and complete the second Japanese season (R, which includes the Doom Tree and the Rini/Dark Lady storylines). Naturally then I will do the second live action arc (up to Dark Mercury's healing I think), then on to the third anime season (S, Saturn and the Witches 9 arc) then finish the live action guide with the final arc and the dvd specials and then back to the anime guide with the forth (SuperS with pegasus) and fifth (SailorStars with Galaxia)! The movies will also be done in their respective season. i.e. I'll do the guide to the R movie when I'm doing the R season. ;)

That's how I'll go about it. What I'll do after this is still up in the air. I would like to do a Sailor Moon Musical guide eventually and a manga one but there are still those Moonkitty profiles to get done. We'll see.

It'll be a lot of hard work, but I really think this will make Moonkitty.NET a valuable resource for a lot of people.

New Digimon Series

I know a lot of visitors here are Digimon fans, so I'll throw this out there; The Official Site for the new, 5th season of Digimon is now live. Not much there... at all, but still might be of interest.

Episode #13 Guide Online

Took longer than I thought it would, but the guide/summary for Sailor Moon #13 is now online! Enjoy! I had a great time watching it and writing about it! Had to edit it a bit too! Realised I was using the Japanese spellings for Raye and Amy! Oops!

Pokemon Movie 9!

The official site for the NINTH Pokemon movie is now online! I can't wait! While the seventh one with Deoxys kind of sucked, the last one with Rukario kicked serious arse!

This new one seems to focus on Kyogre and will introduce even more next generation Pokemon! Woooo!!!

p.s. I know, it's not Sailor Moon related, but I know quite a few of your are Pokemon fans, so thought I'd throw it your way.

**SPECIAL** PGSM Heart Moon Brooch

Here we go! A SPECIAL double post from me to you, as an apology for my delay! In this one, we're going to look at the PGSM Heart Moon Brooch.. so without further to do, here it is!

What it looks like: Well, here we have the same blue gem littered boxes that the other PGSM toys seem to have. Though, the box is really lacking in the "WOW" factor, it's what's inside that we're really after! And this piece is certainly NOT a letdown!!! Upon looking at the compact closed, we see that the top is actually a transparent pink! Which is ALL NEW for the Sailor Moon world! We're so used to seeing these being thick, and solid. The top to this one, is actually quite thin, and has a hole in the center for the gem to be seen beautifully. Now, flipping the top we see the true beauty of this item. Around the gem, we have pink jewelry gemstones, that just sparkle with brilliance! On each side, we also have 4 more stones, that appear as if they light up! Around the heart, we have a beautiful gold coloring that shines in the light, and on the inside 4 corners, we have a moon on each top side, and a cute little accent on each bottom. Now we also have an adorable lipstick, though, unable to really work as any kind of gloss, it does have a top, and looks quite adorable with it's heart on the front. Hmm, I wonder if that heart has some significance?...

What it does: Now, upon opening (or keeping it closed, though, i recommend opening it to view this) the brooch, and pressing that center gem, we get a beautiful light display. Unlike any of the Sailor Moon items we've EVER seen, this one doesn't flash lights hard, or play any kind of loud, fast, annoying tune. Instead, it has quite a soft, and mellow tune to play, as each of the gems (2 at a time at start) fade in to light up, and fade out to let the others do the same, before all 4 will fade in to light up, and then fade out at the end of the tune. Absolutely stunning if you ask me. And then, that lipstick. Tired of pretending you're just some pretty girl? Well, take that lipstick, and making sure the heart is facing the brooch, wave it past it! VOILA! We have another spectacular light show with the center gem, and the 4 lights around it. Though, not as mellow as the previous without, it flashes quite quickly, leaving your eyes a bit surprised the first time around.

What it sounds like: As I said before, without the lipstick, by pressing the center gem, this piece actually has a beautiful, mellow tune to play. But wave the lipstick across it (just like in the show!), and you get the transformation tune you've been looking for! Alright, so it's been shortened, leaving you only a few seconds to get into that fuku, but, it still sounds adorable!

Fun Factor: This piece, definitely gets a 9 out of 10. It's large enough to really cosplay with, having that typical necklace to wear it. And like ALL the other PGSM items, it has an on/off switch, so you control the battery life.

This piece isn't as rare as you might think. You can likely find this piece on ebay for about $30-$50. Well worth the money in my opinion. It makes a beautiful collectable, an awesome cosplay piece, and a neat toy to really play with on a rainy day. Though, you won't change into "Sailor Moon" at any time during this, you'll certainly enjoy pretending you have!

Next Week: PGSM Jewelry Star Bracelet
See ya then!

PGSM Princess Moon Harp/Sword

Greetings everyone! So sorry I'm behind in the postings. Please excuse my delays. But weather has not been kind as of late, and neither has my laptop. Good news is, it's all fixed, and because of the delay, I'm going to do a SPECIAL review as well, immediately following this one. ;) So, without further a-do, here's the "PGSM Princess Moon Harp/Sword".

What it looks like: Here we have a cute little number from our wonderful people at BANDAI. The box is of course, pink, for our dear Usagi, as littered with gorgeous pictures of her as Princess Moon. The box itself is quite slender, contrary to what one might think about this item. Upon looking at the piece itself, it looks really awesome. Although it's likely meant for the smaller audience, the Princess Moon Harp/Sword is large enough to play with for older people. It's proportions however, would likely be best for that of a 5-8 year old child. Aside from that, the decor is almost exactly like the harp/sword in the show! Aside from the minor details to set it apart of course. As it comes, it's already in HARP mode, and the sword top is nicely packaged next to it. However, my only complaint with this, is that the sword top on the backside is littered with screws. If you're looking at it directly, it really does take away from the cuteness of this piece.

What it does: Much like in the show, this Harp/Sword can transform from Harp mode, to sword mode. All you have to do, is twist the top of the gem off, and pull. Then, flip the outer edges, push the bottom piece up, and VOILA! You have yourself a sword. Granted, the 'sword' portion is quite small for the large sides, in comparison to the show's version, but cute, ne'er the less. And, if it's the sounds you're looking for, look no further! Keeping with the tradition of the PGSM items, this TOO has two sounds. In harp mode, it has NIFTY little sensors within the harp area, where strings would likely be. Place your fingers in there, and play away. Unfortunately, there's really only one song, and, you only have to put your fingers in there once. But, keep those fingers moving, and all your friends will be amazed that you can play the Princess' harp song just like in the show! (Providing your friends are 5 year olds? ^.^;;) And in sword mode, just press the nifty button, and it plays the song from in.. the commercial. Okay, so it's not as nifty as the harps song, but, it still works. And, if lighting up really makes you go "ohhhhh ahhhhh" you'll love the hearts 3 light action. Which, just basically.. lights up all 3 lights.

Fun Factor: Alright, so it's fun factor is a 7 out of 10. But, just barely. Though it's really neat to have something like this from the show, and it does look VERY similar to the real deal, it really doesn't have much going for it. Aside from harp mode, the sword mode more so depresses the owner when played. Don't get me wrong, having this piece is an awesome addition. And the coloring is so vibrant, along with the beauty of it on it's own. If you're collecting Sailor Moon, or PGSM items, this isn't one to miss. Especially since this is the FIRST item from Sailor Moon that ISN'T a wand or Chalice! Sailor Moon actually has a SWORD.

You're likely looking at spending anywhere from $50-$100 or more on this item. It's become one of the rarer items to find, much like the other PGSM toys out there. It'd make a good cosplay addition, though proportionally lacking, and a beautiful collectable to add to the shelf.

Next Up: PGSM heart moon brooch.

The Future of Manga

Tokyopop seems to have signed up for this new technology that allows you to read books and manga on a kind of portable PDA. Check it out here.

I doubt the Sailor Moon manga will be on it though as, as I've said before, English distribution rights have expired outside Japan, so if you want to complete your collection, you'll still need to get the old fashion ones.

Hopefully I've killed some misinformation with this article and inspired you to pull out those ol' dub tapes.

PGSM Teletia S Phone!

First off, I'd like to make a correction to my previous post. We're looking at the "TELETIA S" not the "LUNATIA S". I guess I had Luna on the brain. Apologies. ^.^;;

Teletia S

What it looks like: Well, since there are 2 versions, we'll look at BOTH of them! Both the Luna and Senshi versions are adorable. No doubt. They're of a good size, and the boxes are once again, adorably decorated. They seem quite accurate to the phones seen on the TV show, coming with interchangeable cards, so you can make your phone, the scout of your choice!! Or, be talking with a specific scout! They're of a great size, enabling anyone to really grab and use it. It's simply adorable. And if you're worried about this making noise the second you put the batteries in, don't. This, like all the other PGSM toys, works on an "on/off" switch as well. So save those batteries!

What it Does: When you press the soft numbered buttons, you get different button tones, as well as if you press a few of the picture buttons, you get different voices and comments as well! Sometimes you're ringing a senshi, others, you're just getting a busy signal. With the LUNA phone, you get to press the same buttons as in the show, and transform (well, not really) into Sailor Luna!! What's absolutely NIFTY about these, is when you try the "change" cards (available seperately) on either phone (since each card has one side for the senshi phone, the other for Sailor Luna), you can use it to change into whatever the card has as a picture, or, talk to Sailor Luna!! The voices are the same as in the TV show, and if you think that's all you get, you're wrong!! Along with the nifty calling the senshi, sometimes your phone will ring at random too!! Just open it up (like a cel phone), and press the phone button, and voila! You're talking to a senshi! And, just in case you thought it'd do it anyways, if you DON'T answer the phone, it will simply stop ringing after a few rings, and that will be that. I've also noticed, it tends not to ring anymore if you don't answer, unless you play with the phone again. I'm assuming it's a way to save on batteries? Wow! Now, as a mom, I LIKE that. LOL.

What it Sounds Like: Each card has a different phrase, and each time you pick it up, it has one too! Sometimes it will repeat the same phrase over and over again. Others, you get a different phrase a good few times in a row. Though, the phrasing isn't as much as the Luna plush, it's nothing to scoff at. For the size of this cute little phone, it sure packs a punch!

Fun Factor: Out of a scale of 1-10, this is a definite 10. The phone is adorable, the phrasing is cute, and the fact that there are MORE cards to collect and use, is awesome! Fortunately for those of you who might look into getting the phone(s) with the cards, you DON'T have to take the cards out of their 'frames' (since the cards are relatively small, they had to make them into a trading card size, allowing you to punch it out to use it). You can simply look at it, and without using the red filter, figure out which numbers to press. This toy is an absolute blast, and the comments are amusing. It's size is nice for most everyone, and it really can complete that senshi outfit.

Overall, be looking to spend a GOOD amount for the Teletia S phone (Senshi Version). Since it's a rarity out there already, you're going to need to do some HEAVY digging for one. I would look to spend anywhere from $20.00 to $50.00 or MORE. Demand for this is surprisingly HIGH. As for the Luna version, it's a tad easier to find, but not by much. Since this piece comes with a couple accessories, you can look on spending anywhere from $16.99 to about $35.00 or more. Unfortunately, the only place I have seen them, are Japan auctions, and ebay. It's going to be a definite collectable, and an adorable piece to any collection. It's awesome for cosplay, and in my opinion, well worth the money.

Next week: Princess Sailor Moon's Harp/Sword
See ya then!!

The only Sailor Christmas figurine in known existance

A few days ago, I had went on a shopping spree at an anime/manga/miscellaneous store that was going out of business (all things 75% off...New Years Eve was the last day). It wasn't until after I got the items home and was looking at one of the forums I now frequent that the three figurines were quite possibly bootlegged. That being the case, I went to an arts and crafts store yesterday and bought some acrylic paint (White, Christmas Red, and Kelly Green) and painted over the Sailor Uranus bootlegged figurine to create the only (as far as I know) Sailor Christmas Figurine. I think I done well for my first attempt, though there's still spotches (that and the fact that the scanner I used makes it look even worse than it really is) on it. I've scanned the front and back sides of it and placed it in the image gallery of my site.
