Just got back from seeing the latest Sailormoon musical; New Legend of Kaguya Island with Fellow Moonie, Yohimoon, and it ROCKED! This being my first Sera Myu, I can't say how it stands up against the previous Myus but I had a great time and can say that it was money well spent. It went for almost 3 hours, and man did those 3 hours go fast!
The singing was amazing. The costumes were great (and not as flamboyant as the rumours will have you believe.) The script was easy to follow (I have a beginners Japanese level) and the whole event was just really FUN!
Highlights of the evening included all the merchandise on sale (finally got myself an Artemis plushie!), all the little kids dressing up as Sailor Soldiers, and the special handshake at the end of the evening where the audience got to go up on stage and literally shake hands with a few of the cast! I got to shake the hands of Sailormoon, Neptune, Uranus, Chibi Moon, Saturn and Pluto!!! Great stuff! I even got to make Pluto laugh. She was basically saying "Arigato" to everyone, shaking their hands and then on to the next person. When she thanked me, I motioned towards her and said "ARIGATO" (no, thank you). She seemed really suprised (everyone else was just shaking hands), laughed and then I had to keep walking to let everyone else shake her hand. Saturn was funny. She kind of stared at me, but in a happy, suprised way. I guess she was really suprised to see a white guy in the audience. :D
We weren't allowed to take any cameras inside though I DID manage to take some video with my mobile phone of the hand shake by semi-hiding my phone in my left hand with it on record! I'll be posting this shortly..... in a special Moonkitty.NET project coming soon... ;) Wahahaha!
